Apple Glass Features

Apple_gray_logoIf there is one company that is bound to copy Google, then it is Apple (I’m joking). Actually, there were many blogs, a few months ago, saying that Apple had a prototype of something like Google Glass back in 2006, but obviously they never released or finished it. Them not releasing or finishing it isn’t a big deal, because there are many projects that Apple hasn’t completed or released. Still, what features would Apple smart glasses or “Apple Glasses” have?

Full Field View Display

Apple is all about the user experience, and there’s no better way to indulge in an experience than to have it cover your who field of view. Plus, it’s probably going to get to that point on all smart glasses at some point anyway.

Clean User Interface

Even though I’m not the biggest fan of Apple products, I have to admit that the iOS user interface is extremely clean, minimal, and easy to understand. If Apple were to ever release Apple Glasses, then I’m sure that it would have interface that is less clunky than Google Glass’s. If there is one thing that Apple actually does right, then it’s creating a good user experience. I really don’t know what the heck Google was thinking when they made the current Glass user interface, but I’m sure that Apple would probably be able to do better.

Trendy Design

Even the biggest Apple hater will admit that Apple has produced some pretty sexy devices. Apple has influenced how a lot of other brands make their phones and other devices look. Really, Apple has a good grasp on what people are looking for when they are buying a device, and that’s something that looks stylish and minimal. If Apple were to release their own version of Glass, then I’m sure it would be slim and something that is in fashion.

I can’t say that Google did a bad job with Glass’ design, but it does look like something from a cheesy scifi movie

Apple Maps

It just seems logical to have a maps feature on any smart glasses. While Apple maps might have you driving into oceans and off cliffs, you will probably find it on Apple Glasses.

Push to Apple Glasses

Almost all of us have been in a situation where we were watching a movie and needed to go use the restroom, but didn’t want to pause the film. Well, with Apple Glasses I’m sure it would be possible to push the movie from your Apple TV to your Apples Glasses. It would be handy to be able to go pee and continue to watch your movie at the same time.

Itunes Voice Commands

It would make sense for Apple to integrate and allow you to control itunes with Apple Glasses. For example, you could use siri/voice commands to play songs, pause songs, and buy songs.

While Apple currently doesn’t have this in itunes, they could develop something that would help identify songs while you are walking around and want to find out the name of a song that’s playing.

Save To Desktop

Apple Glasses would probably have some function that would allow you to save/bookmark certain content so that you can later access it on your Mac computer. People are always stumbling across interesting stuff that they can’t necessarily view at that time, so it would be pretty handy to be able to save it for later – possibly to your main machine.

Facetime

Facetime would definitely come with Apple Glasses. I mean, it wouldn’t make sense if they didn’t include it. Apple has to compete with Google’s Hangouts so that almost guarantees Facetime on Apple Glasses if they were to ever come out.

Final Thoughts

Those are all the features that I think of when I hear the words Apple Glasses. Really, if Apple ever plans on getting into the smart glasses market, then they would need to have almost all the same features that the other smart glasses offer, plus more. You can already assume that Apple would make their smart glasses compatible with most of their other devices and software as well. But, who knows if Apple Glasses will ever come or what the device will offer.

What do you think about when you hear the words “Apple Glasses”? What features would you want in a pair of smart glasses made by Apple? Let us know in the comments down below!
