In the news media segment other houses to have app for Google Glass are Mashable, CNN and The New York Times. CNN becomes the second media brands with apps for Google Glass and Elle evolved as third.

The Elle Google Glass app includes content from the most widely read section of the magazine and also of the most shared online. It has stories from ELLEDispatch, Lookbooks, Street Chick and horoscopes too.

ELLEDispatch carries hottest fashion and culture news from the Elle.com throughout the day.

Lookbook includes latest trends and styles of every day.

Streetchick tells who is the best dressed. It also covers best street style as well as details from fashion festivals and concerts.

The Elle app posts are light on text and images are heavy. Subscribers can opt for only an excerpt of an article and also the app will read aloud for user. A total of 8 to 10 updates are flashed a day.

Hearst Corporation chief technology officer Phil Wiser said, “Hearst always strives to be on the leading edge of innovation—it is at the core of our company… Across our media businesses, we are working to engage consumers everywhere content is consumed, now and in the future. Google Glass encourages us to think about our content in a new way. We are very pleased at the experience of partnering with Google on this project.”

The app is attractive and decent too. The navigation is user friendly and hope more work will be done on it once the Google Glass is launched for everyone by early next year, as expected. The Elle Google Glass app can be downloaded and installed from ElleForGlass.com.
