HTC Vive Virtual Reality Headset – Launch Delayed Until 2016

If you were hoping that the HTC Vive will be on sale before the end of 2015, then we have some bad news for you. HTC has promised in the past that they will make this device available before the end of 2015, but it seems that for some reason, the launch of this device will be delayed until Q1 of 2016.

In concordance with Valve, the software company that’s working with HTC to make the Vive headset, talks about a slight delay on the device. Actually, there will be a small amount of HTC Vive devices that will be shipped in the first three months of 2016.

However, Valve has confirmed that there will be more developer units available before the end of the year along with a few “community” devices that will be available for the public. With other words, if you are lucky enough, you might get your HTC Vive device before the end of 2015.

We remind you that HTC started working on the Vive device shortly after they’ve made an announcement in March 2015. Back then, HTC stated that a limited number of units will be available before the end of the year, with more to come in Q1 2016.

However, this is not the only virtual reality device that it is about to come soon, as other companies are already working on their own VR device, such as Sony’s PlayStation VR. Competition is always good, as this “forces” the companies to work harder on the devices that they develop.

Currently, we don’t have an official release date of the HTC Vive device, but we’re pretty sure that the Taiwanese multinational manufacturer of tablets and smartphones headquartered in New Taipei City, Taiwan, will come with some news in the upcoming days.
