Moverio BT-200 Launch in April

download (3)Moverio BT-200 is pretty much a television screen for your face. The device projects a transparent 960×520 resolution display in front of the user’s eyes using two projectors and has integrated Dolby Digital Plus sound. Moverio BT-200 has 8 GB of internal storage and can be expanded up to 32GB thanks to the microSD slot.

The smart glasses come with a multi-touch trackpad that is used to navigate the device and it is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. According to Epson, the battery life lasts up to six hours. The device is also capable of Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity so you can connect it to your phone. Supposedly, the smart glasses will be launching with 30 apps that can downloaded through the Moverio Apps Marketplace.

The coolest thing about the Moverio BT-200 is that you can stream content to it thanks to DLNA and Miracast support. A pretty cool feature and it gives me another reason to call it a television screen for your face. One more thing I should mention about this device is that it comes with a prescription lens insert which is pretty nice to have included.

The Moverio BT-200 will be launching on April 24th with a price tag of $677. There will also be a second option available that includes an adapter to connect the device to Blue-ray and DVD recorders and is priced at $881.
