Prosumer Version of M100 with Frames Available on Amazon for $999

Vuzix has been doing a lot with their Vuzix M100 smart glasses lately. Recently, it was announced that the device was certified by the China Quality Certification Center, and the device received a helmet mount. Also, not too long ago, the device received a major OS update. Well now, Vuzix has teamed up with Amazon to sell a prosumer version of the M100 this holiday season.

Vuzix is selling a Vuzix M100 bundle-of-sorts exclusively on Amazon this holiday season. The bundle includes the Vuzix M100 (obviously), a pair of eyeglass frames for the M100, an accessory battery and a premium leather carrying case.

The eyeglass frames are made by Rochester optical and the dummy lenses inside of the frames can be changed to prescription lenses by going to one of the 13,000 optical stores that are partnered with Rochester Optical.

The Vuzix M100 is a decent piece of hardware. It has 1 gigabyte of ram, a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor, a 428×240 resolution display (non-trasparent), 4GB of storage that can be expanded to 32GB, and a camera that can record 1080p video. The device runs Android with Vuzix’s own OS running over it, but it can still run most stock Android apps.

You can find the device in two colors on Amazon; white and gray. Right now, for $999, you can preorder this “prosumer” version of the M100. That is $500 bucks lower than you now what. The prosumer M100 is supposed to start shipping out on November 27.
