Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses Get Two New Enterprise Apps

SAP, an enterprise software provider, has brought two new augmented reality enterprise applications to the Vuzix M100 smart glasses. SAP has been working with Vuzix and they have created an augmented reality application to help warehouse pickers and an augmented reality application to help service technicians.

The application designed by SAP to help warehouse pickers is called SAP® AR Warehouse Picker and allows pickers to perform certain tasks hands-free. SAP® AR Warehouse Picker helps pickers get task instructions via voice commands. The application includes a bar code scanner for scanning units, locations, products, stations, and other things that need to be scanned. The application also has voice input to confirm quantities among other things.

Concept Video for SAP® AR Warehouse Picker:

The application for service technicians is called SAP® AR Service Technician. SAP® AR Service Technician provides users with 3D visual models of their workplace along with instructions and notes. The application also has a calling feature that allows outside experts to remotely connect to the glasses and provide the wearer with help. The technician application has voice recognition and most of its features can be taken advantage of hands-free.

While the names of these applications are pretty bland, they can definitely be useful, especially the warehouse picker one. Active Ant’s has already proven that wearables can help improve the efficiency of stock pickers.
