Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses Now Compatible with iOS Devices

A little over a week ago, Vuzix announced the “OS 2.0” software update for the Vuzix M100 smart glasses. The update brought nuance voice controls, a new carousel interface, optimizations and a manager app.

Vuzix M100The Vuzix M100 has been compatible with Android phones since launch, but never iOS devices. Well, yesterday, Vuzix published a press release stating that with the new OS 2.0 update, the Vuzix M100 is now compatible with Apple iOS devices. With OS 2.0, the Vuzix M100 can connect to most iOS devices, including the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. In the press release, Vuzix said that they are in the final stages of testing when it comes to the iOS version of the M100 Manager app and that they are about to submit it to iTunes. Once the app becomes available, people will be able to connect the M100 glasses to their iOS devices.

The iOS version of the Manager app isn’t any different from the Android version. The iOS version of the manager app does the same stuff. It allows people to control the M100 smart glasses via their phones and enables features like Bluetooth hands-free headset coms, the ability to stream audio, and more.

Vuzix is smart for finally making their smart glasses compatible with iOS. It’s important to support as many platforms as you can, or at least the main ones. By finally making the device compatible with iOS, they’ve opened themselves up to a whole new group of people and will hopefully get more sales because of that.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on this? Do you think iOS compatibility will have any effect on the M100’s sales? Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments section down below! Also, you can read the press release for yourself by click right here.
